Market day!

First we learned about money and good ways to keep it safe. We got our bank books and decorated them. We earned Sumner School fake money. Then we banked our money in our class bank. Next we got into groups and brainstormed ideas that we could make for our product. We choose the top three items and shared them with the class! After carrying out a survey, we choose what we were going to make and we started making our product. We bought all our materials from our shop for our product. We also had to make our posters to advertise our products. When we had finished making and advertising our product we had a humongous market on Wednesday. We could buy lots of things such as jewelry, pet rocks, snow globes and more. We timetabled who stayed at the stalls and who could go shopping. Some groups provided a service. There were competions and much much more. Most of us made a profit but some, sadly did not! The day after the market was called profit day! We could choose how to spend our profits. For most people it was a fun way to learn about finances. One group learnt a big lesson. Be careful who you go into business with.
These first photos show the children making their products.
